11 Important Tips how to Protecting your skin from the Damaging Effects of the Sun:


1) Protect exposed skin all year

Wear sunscreen with SPF of 30 in summer time and SPF 15 in a fall, winter, and spring

2) Whenever possible, stay out of the SUN for long periods of time.

Specially between 10a.m to 2p.m. When rays time are strongest.

3) Try avoiding tanning beds.

It’s not true that beds are safe to tanning.

4) Wear sunglasses that wrap around the eyes and have 100% UV blocking lenses.

5) Select a sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays, sometimes labeled as broad-spectrum sunscreen. Many popular brands will not adequately protect your skin from these harmful rays.

6) Apply liberally about one teaspoon of sunscreen to your face and least on ounce to your body each day.

7) Waterproof and water-resistant sunscreen is good if you are in-evolved in swimming. They need to be applied/reapplied twenty minutes before entering the water so that the product can bond with the skin.

8) Those who work out of door might need frequent application of a sunscreen with a high SPF, at least 50 SPF.

9) If you have sensitive skin, use a cream-based product, and AVOID SUNSCREENS with: tretinoin ( Retina-A, Stieva-A, Retiso-A, Rejuva-A, Renova, Vitamin A acid) which dried the skin. Look for the fragrance-free, hypoallergenic sunscreen.

10) UVA rays are reflected from all light surfaces, including water, sand, snow, ice, and even concrete.

11) Children younger than six months old should not wear sunscreen, but instead be covered and kept out of the sun.
